Our first will stop in Ardara, a designated Heritage Town bursting with artistic and musical talent, for a demonstration of spinning, weaving and knitting at the Triona Design.

Next, we will travel via the Glengesh Pass, a stunning setting of spectacular views with old cottages, farms and sheep dotted along the route, to reach the Slieve League, spectacular sea cliffs which are among the highest in Europe plunging some 600m to the sea. Promising unforgettable views, look down to see two rocks nicknamed the ‘giant’s desk and chair’ for reasons that are immediately obvious.

Day 5                          Next Stop…Belfast

Once you have had your breakfast, we will bid Donegal farewell in search of new adventures in the rejuvenated and unmissable, Northern Ireland.

Before we reach Northern Ireland, we will see a gem of the North West. We will drive through the Inishowen Peninsula which offers a diverse and visually exciting terrain, where the views usually encompass the waters of the loughs or the Atlantic waves. Virtually every aspect of the landscape is superb – the beaches (especially Kinnego Bay, Culdaff, Tullagh and Pollan), the towering headland bluffs (Malin, Inishowen, Dunaff and Dunree) and the central mountain range, with towering Slieve Snaght at the middle of it all.

After taking in these stunning views, we will leave Donegal, crossing the border into Northern Ireland (part of the UK) where the only changes to expect are the road signs and the currency (from Euro to Sterling). Our next stop is Derry/Londonderry, an artistic and cultural hub which was awarded the first City of Culture in 2013. We will enjoy a guided city tour which offers 1,500 years of social, cultural and religious history of Ireland’s only remaining walled city.

Later, we will reach Belfast, the transformed city famous in equal parts for the birthplace of the Titanic, the notorious history of Northern Ireland. Upon arrival into the city, we will enjoy a city sightseeing tour to take in unique areas like the City Centre, the Titanic Quarter, the Protestant neighborhood of Shankill Road and the Catholic neighborhood of Falls Road. We will then check-in and you can enjoy the remainder of the day as you please! Overnight: Belfast Hotel

Day 6                          Uniquely Antrim

Finish up your breakfast this morning as we set out for a day to remember. We will depart Belfast this morning to journey via the Causeway Coastal Route which is dubbed one of the best coastal drives in the world. Known locally as ‘The Glens’, it stretches between two of Northern Ireland’s main cities and brings you past breathtaking scenery. If you haven’t heard about it already, this route winds between picturesque villages and unforgettable scenic locations. Cherish your experience taking place amongst an ever-changing tapestry of scenery and colors and a dramatic coastal backdrop which will take your breath away.

We will then reach the world famous Giant’s Causeway, renowned for its polygonal columns of layered basalt, which is the only World Heritage Site in Northern Ireland. Resulting from a volcanic eruption 60 million years ago, this is the focal point for a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and has attracted visitors for centuries. It harbors a wealth of local and natural history. Other noteworthy items include: a Spanish Armada shipwreck site (‘La Girona’) & many traces of the legendary giant – Finn MacCool.

We will return to Belfast this afternoon and you are free to spend the remainder of your day getting to know the city in your own way. With local attractions included Crumlin Road Gaol, St. George’s Market and Victoria Square all nearby – enjoy your own Belfast! Overnight: Belfast Hotel

We will return to Belfast for an afternoon tour of Titanic Belfast to experience the story of the Titanic in an innovative, interactive and insightful way.
