ETIAS for US Traveling to Europe
What is the ETIAS?
Also known as the European Travel Informaiton and Authorization System, in 2024, American passport holders traveling to 30 European countires will need authorization via ETIAS (not including UK and Ireland).
- This is not a Visa, but an automated IT system.
- Used for short term trips
- Used to bettter track who is coming and going
- All passport holders from 60 countries who can travel without a visa can apply
- Application is not yet open but will be sometime in 2024
