The tranquil village of Ardmore is the perfect spot for some Autumn sun and fresh air! It’s about an hour and a half drive from Waterford City and there’s plenty to see once you arrive.The village is the oldest Christian settlement in Ireland and boasts the best example of an Irish round tower which dates back to the 12th century and stands 29m in height. The Ardmore Round Tower would have served as a belfry and place of refuge. The ancient site includes Cathedral ruins, with stone carvings depicting biblical scenes, and also fascinating ogham stones.
